Are You a DACA Defender?

Date Published: 9/06/2017

As many of you know the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) ended yesterday. DACA was a program that gives undocumented immigrants who came to America as kids a chance to work while in America. Living in California we have about 220,000 DACA recipients and so this decision affects a sizable amount of people in my home state.

I've known a few of these kids growing up. They are American, they grew up speaking English, they went to American universities and now working very good jobs. I find it hard to tell these kids (now adults) to go back to a place they never called home.

My wish is for everyone to call our congress. Our congress has until March to put DACA back into law and we have the power to encourage them. Our voices are loud, so let's use them. Please call (202) 224-3121 to make a difference. Regardless of how you feel about the issue, it's important to use your voice to make a difference. Will you be calling into Congress this week?

Peace and Love,
