#THE NIGERIAN GIRL-CHILD LITERACY PROJECT 2019

Today, we are excited and grateful to Simonetta Lein, Executive Director of the Wish Wall Foundation and every board member of the foundation for supporting 100 Nigerian Girl Child with school bags, sandals, sanitary pads and exercise books.

The Executive Director of iRead To Live Initiative, Sule Jacob Olaoluwa conveyed the welcome address of Simonetta Lein via audio output and he also thanked his entire team of volunteers for making the event as success.

The event was tagged “The Nigerian Girl-Child Literacy Project” which featured 100 female students from 5 public schools in Ifetedo Community, Osun State Nigeria. The students were selected by volunteers of iRead To Live Initiative led by Abiona Ayishat, Team Lead Girl-Child Advocacy.

During the event, we had presentations from Abiona Ayishat and Damilola Quadri, Girl-Child Advocates. They engaged the students on Menstrual Hygiene and how to take good care of themselves as young girls. They also stressed the fact that they as young girls are the next set of global leaders.

Thereafter, Mrs Ayodeji, the local artisan that produced the bags was invited to make her remarks, she said “…I thank the Wish Wall Foundation for promoting my business, this is the biggest contract for the production of bags I have ever received since I started the business of making bags, it is from this bag making business that I manage to feed my family and do other things. God bless the wish wall foundation” She also used the opportunity to appeal to for more patronage and support for her business by assisting her to purchase additional sewing machines.

The donation of the school supplies lasted for about an Hour and the beneficiaries and their teachers were so delighted and happy. According to a Teacher, Mrs Idowu , she said “I have been a teacher for over 10 years, most of my students walk to school barefooted, without bags and writing materials. I am so happy and I thank the Wish Wall Foundation and iRead To Live Initiative for this project”

From all of us at iRead To Live Initiative, we thank the Wish Wall Foundation and Simonetta Lein for the kind donation and support in raising the next generation of Global Leaders.
