Puerto Rico Still Needs Our Help

Date Published: 6/13/2018

Over the weekend the Puerto Rican Day Parade was held in New York. It was filled with Puerto Rican flags, dancing, and lots of smiles. Unfortunately, this was the first Puerto Rican parade since Hurricane Maria occurred.

It’s been 9 months and Puerto Rico is still suffering from the hurricane. I personally know someone who’s family just got electricity back, but still don’t have running water. The kids couldn’t work at their jobs for the last six months so they had to move to the States and now send their paychecks back to their homeland. I definitely think we need to do a better job of keeping the citizens safe of this U.S. territory safe.

My wish is to help our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico. We can still send water, food and clothes. If you don’t have the money then you can write or call this administration to express your frustration with the state of Puerto Rico. Remember: it’s much easier having success if we all work together.

Peace and Love,
