A WISH GRANTED Simonetta Lein, Founder and Vice President of the WishWall Foundation receives Literacy Award in Nigeria, donates iPads to Students.

On Thursday, 6th of June, 2019 in Nigeria, iRead To Live Initiative hosted its 4th Annual Literacy Competition in honor of Simonetta Lein of the WishWall Foundation for granting us another meaningful wish of improving and supporting literacy in Nigeria. The choice of this awards was to recognize Lein’ conscious efforts and support towards Education and literacy in Nigeria having supported girls in rural communities in Nigeria with 100 bags, sandals, exercise books and sanitary pads in March 2019.

The Literacy competition featured 45 Schools, which included private and public schools from different parts of Osun state, south west, Nigeria. Over 200 Students gathered at Delightsome Hotel to compete for various prizes such as iPads, Textbooks, School bags and other writing materials. Questions were drawned from three (3) core areas of subjects Mathematics, English language and Current Affairs. It was indeed a show of scholarly engagements by these students after several hours of answering questions from the three courses.

The Literacy competition had three rounds of questions, after each rounds; students with the lowest grade points were disqualified from the competition. Interestingly, after several rounds of questioning, three students emerged as overall best and they were presented with ipads, textbooks, school bags and other educational materials.

Paul Goboze of Sundest Progressive College, Osogbo emerged as the First Position, he was presented with an iPad, Three (3) text books, One (1) School bag and exercise books, Olaniyi Fiyin emerged as the Second, he was also presented with an iPad, Two (2) textbooks, and One (1) School bag, while Agboola Pelumi from Miracle International School won the Third prize also with an iPad, School bag and writing materials.

For us at iRead To Live Initiative, this is a landmark event and we are proud to honor Simonetta Lein-a global icon, activist, founder and Vice president of the WishWall Foundation.

Thank you the WishWall Foundation, Thank you Simonetta.
